Mission and Values

After October 7th, the world felt more uncertain, and for many Jews, less safe. At the same time, something else has been missing for a while. Real third spaces. Places where people can meet outside of work, connect, build relationships, and actually enjoy being around each other.

In Boston, that gap is even wider. The Jewish community is fragmented. Israeli and American Jews often exist in separate worlds, and many people feel like they don’t fully belong in either.

Mesibat Maccabee was created to fix that. It's a recurring event series designed, run, and DJ'd by someone inside the community, for the Jewish community and our non-Jewish allies.

The music I play is diverse like our community and pulls from Israeli, Mizrahi, Sephardi, Ethiopian, and global sounds, and the whole point is simple. It’s one of the few places where the full diversity of Jewish identity in Boston shows up in the same room. With fiscal sponsorship, there’s now a path to grow this, but each event still has real costs that make it hard to sustain without support.

That’s where supporters come in. The people who contribute are the reason these spaces exist at all. Every dollar goes directly toward creating a safe, well-run environment where people can show up as themselves. In return, you’re not just supporting an event. You’re making it possible for people to find community, build relationships, and create the kind of Jewish life that doesn’t currently exist anywhere else in Boston.

Am Yisrael Chai.
